LIFE UPDATE

I got my laptop back from the Apple hospital around midweek and during the 4 days of being laptop-less I managed to get a lot of reading done! This week was mostly me procrastinating about compiling my portfolio and me reading A TON for Bout of Books. :) It feels so good that I got to read as much as I did. I will be continuing with #crushyourtbr this weekend and continue on my reading streak~

p.s. my international giveaway is ending in 11 days!

EBOOKS

A Court of Thorns and Roses: All the hype got to me and I LOVE Beauty and the Beast, I had to get it! I've read it and its soooo good! Review will up either tomorrow or on Monday.

(BORROWED) AUDIO BOOKS

The Giver series: I marathon-ed through the first two books during the week and I just started on Messenger.

(BORROWED) PHYSICAL BOOKS

Written in Red: I got the ebook last week but I saw this at the library so I decided to get it. :)
Confessions of a Shopaholic & Shopaholic Takes Manhattan: I read this series nearly 8 years ago and I can barely remember anything about it so I am going to be rereading this!
Code Name Verity: I've been meaning to check this out for the longest time!
Vicious: Everyone loves this so why not.
Penguin 75: Designers, Authors, Commentary: There is a library here that has an entire floor filled with design reference books and I decided to borrow this book filled with eye candy!

LIFE UPDATE

There isn't really much going on with my life. I am still bumming around and enjoying post-graduation but I am going to start looking for a job next week after I send my laptop for a battery replacement today (Saturday)! Hopefully everything goes well and I will be able to get it back in 3-4 days. :) Since my huge book haul last week, I managed to regain my sanity and hold back on buying anymore books. So it is a rather small haul this week.

Also, my international giveaway is ending in 18 days! Don't forget to take part and help me share it if you are a little angel :P

EBOOKS

An Ember in the Ashes: I have been anticipating this and I really hope to read it this month!
Crewel: I got this for a book club that I am in: YA Fiction Addiction Club. We are reading this until May 21 so feel free to join us if you have always wanted to read Crewel! :)
Written in Red: This has insane ratings on Goodreads and I HAVE to check it out!
Soulless: Lindsey Rey from Youtube is always talking about this series and I am convinced!

(BORROWED) AUDIO BOOK

Gone Girl: Everyone loves this book and even though I am not a huge fan of thriller/mystery books, I am going to give this a go and hopefully listening to it on audiobook would really help with the usual issues I have with reading the physical thriller/mystery books. (pacing is usually a big problem for me)

LIFE UPDATE

I've already posted some life updates in my recent wrap up post so I will not repeat it here. I do have an international giveaway to celebrate my graduation, do check it out! :) I did not get any books two weeks ago but since then, I was in an insanely good mood and splurged to celebrate so be prepared for a decent-sized haul below. On to the books!

EBOOKS

Salt & Stone: I read Fire & Flood a few days back and really enjoyed it and I can't wait to continue with the series! This is probably my next read. :)
Golden Boy: I have never read a book like this and I am really interested to learn more about lgbt issues.

(BORROWED) PHYSICAL BOOKS

The Sky is Everywhere: I found a really cool edition of this that is made to look like a diary of sorts with random inserts of poems and pictures, it seems to really add something to the story. I am excited for this!
Gilead & Housekeeping: I've been hearing a lot about Gilead and since Housekeeping was sitting right next to this in the library I decided to pick it up too! Both of these have won many awards and I am trying to read more award-winning novels. :)
Me Before You: I've been meaning to read a Jojo Moyes and this seems to be a good starting point.

Obsidian: I've been contemplating about getting the first bind up for this series but I'm not sure if I would like it so I am going to 'sample' the first instalment before getting the bind up! *fingers crossed*
The Shore: This cover caught my eye on the "New Arrivals" shelf in the library and I was intrigued after reading the summary. It is basically a collection of short stories about women.
This Is How You Lose Her: I've been meaning to try something by Junot Diaz and I think this short novel would be a great sneak peek!
Mrs Dalloway: Gotta read more classics! Plus this cover is gorgeous.

Chew Volume #1-#4: I was literally jumping with joy when I saw these at the library. I've seen so many booktubers raving about this and I really wanted to check this out! I've finished this since then and THEY WERE AMAZING! I will be reviewing this soon!

(BOUGHT) PHYSICAL BOOKS

A Darker Shade of Magic: Thrifted this for half the actual price and it is in perfect condition! Great great great find! :)
A Clash of Kings: I got this brand new from a local bookstore at an amazing price!! I haven't read the first book in the series yet but I couldn't pass this up. :P
Firefight: I haven't read the first in this series either but I thrifted this for only $5 \O/
Still Alice: This sounds so intriguing! I can't wait to read this.

The Ghosts of Heaven & Killing the Dead: These came as a bundle, what a steal! I've seen the reviews of these on Goodreads and it seems like Marcus Sedgwick's writing style is not for everyone. I am eager to see how I feel about it! :)
Little Women: Yup! More classics, from now on I shall just use #EeReadsClassics to explain all my classic purchases :P This cover is gorgeous and it was only going for $10 at the bookstore!
The Narrow Road to the Deep North: I thrifted a hardcover of this and I got a really good deal! It is kinda beat up though.

The Picture of Dorian Gray: Love this cover and I got it for a great price from the school bookstore! #EeReadsClassics
Farenheit 451: I love this anniversary edition! #EeReadsClassics
The Tinder Box: I have loved his tales since I as a child and I am excited to reread them.
The Beautiful Cassandra: Jane Austen!!! I really love these adorable penguin classics and they are simply to-die-for!

Harry Potter Special Edition Paperback Box Set: Do I really need to explain this gorgeous purchase? It was worth every cent! <3

LIFE UPDATE

I have been sick for the past few days and it doesn't help that I have so many assignments due. Working through a headache/drowsiness/restlessness is a real torture but my fever finally broke today so hopefully I will feel better soon!

I was also in a bit of a reading slump, at one point I was 'currently reading' 6 books. *hides head in shame* I am just not in the mood for Red Rising, I feel so sick of dystopians right now. It is a library book and I am pressurising myself to finish it before the due date but it has put me in a real slump. :/ GAH. Should I just ditch it and try again another time? I know I should but man, I waited so long for it to be available at the library #bookwormproblems.

Also, I managed to not buy any physical books this week. *cues applause* I feel like my crazy book buying phase is over. I am satisfied and I got my urge-to-splurge out of my system after 3 months of crazy book buying. I don't think I have any more books that I feel like I MUST have so I will probably only make the occasional book order from Amazon/Book Depository. I can hear my bank account thanking me.

EBOOKS

Confess: I loved the Slammed series but kinda hated Maybe Someday so I am very wary about reading this. This revolves around art though, so I am checking this out very soon, for sure! p.s. I just love how the cover blends into the background of the blog :P

(BOUGHT) PHYSICAL BOOKS

I didn't actually get these this week, I just forgot to haul them.

Crown of Midnight and Heir of Fire: I need to continue on with the series! Everyone seems to love these two more than the first so I am excited! I don't think I've seen a series rated so highly on Goodreads before. (If you know of any that are rated 3.5 and above for the entire series, do let me know!)
