Stacking the Shelves #15 & The Sunday Post #12

Stacking The Shelves by Tynga's Reviews is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks!

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

LIFE UPDATE

I've already posted some life updates in my recent wrap up post so I will not repeat it here. I do have an international giveaway to celebrate my graduation, do check it out! :) I did not get any books two weeks ago but since then, I was in an insanely good mood and splurged to celebrate so be prepared for a decent-sized haul below. On to the books!

EBOOKS

Salt & Stone: I read Fire & Flood a few days back and really enjoyed it and I can't wait to continue with the series! This is probably my next read. :)
Golden Boy: I have never read a book like this and I am really interested to learn more about lgbt issues.

(BORROWED) PHYSICAL BOOKS

The Sky is Everywhere: I found a really cool edition of this that is made to look like a diary of sorts with random inserts of poems and pictures, it seems to really add something to the story. I am excited for this!
Gilead & Housekeeping: I've been hearing a lot about Gilead and since Housekeeping was sitting right next to this in the library I decided to pick it up too! Both of these have won many awards and I am trying to read more award-winning novels. :)
Me Before You: I've been meaning to read a Jojo Moyes and this seems to be a good starting point.

Obsidian: I've been contemplating about getting the first bind up for this series but I'm not sure if I would like it so I am going to 'sample' the first instalment before getting the bind up! *fingers crossed*
The Shore: This cover caught my eye on the "New Arrivals" shelf in the library and I was intrigued after reading the summary. It is basically a collection of short stories about women.
This Is How You Lose Her: I've been meaning to try something by Junot Diaz and I think this short novel would be a great sneak peek!
Mrs Dalloway: Gotta read more classics! Plus this cover is gorgeous.

Chew Volume #1-#4: I was literally jumping with joy when I saw these at the library. I've seen so many booktubers raving about this and I really wanted to check this out! I've finished this since then and THEY WERE AMAZING! I will be reviewing this soon!

(BOUGHT) PHYSICAL BOOKS

A Darker Shade of Magic: Thrifted this for half the actual price and it is in perfect condition! Great great great find! :)
A Clash of Kings: I got this brand new from a local bookstore at an amazing price!! I haven't read the first book in the series yet but I couldn't pass this up. :P
Firefight: I haven't read the first in this series either but I thrifted this for only $5 \O/
Still Alice: This sounds so intriguing! I can't wait to read this.

The Ghosts of Heaven & Killing the Dead: These came as a bundle, what a steal! I've seen the reviews of these on Goodreads and it seems like Marcus Sedgwick's writing style is not for everyone. I am eager to see how I feel about it! :)
Little Women: Yup! More classics, from now on I shall just use #EeReadsClassics to explain all my classic purchases :P This cover is gorgeous and it was only going for $10 at the bookstore!
The Narrow Road to the Deep North: I thrifted a hardcover of this and I got a really good deal! It is kinda beat up though.

The Picture of Dorian Gray: Love this cover and I got it for a great price from the school bookstore! #EeReadsClassics
Farenheit 451: I love this anniversary edition! #EeReadsClassics
The Tinder Box: I have loved his tales since I as a child and I am excited to reread them.
The Beautiful Cassandra: Jane Austen!!! I really love these adorable penguin classics and they are simply to-die-for!

Harry Potter Special Edition Paperback Box Set: Do I really need to explain this gorgeous purchase? It was worth every cent! <3

  5. Looks like a fantastic week of books was for you. Bring a box of tissues with you while reading Salt and Stone, it was great, but very emotionally hard book. Have a wonderful weekend.

  11. SO. MANY. BOOKS. I don't even know what to say. I will say that I am amazed you've already found a "thrift" edition of ADSOM, since it's only been out for a few months.

  12. Your post is so bad for me. I've been trying not to look at new books and now I've spotted a bunch I'd like to get. LOL That Chew series is fascinating. Hadn't seen them before.
