Feature & Follow Friday #8

The Feature & Follow is hosted by TWO hosts, Parajunkee and Alison Can Read. Every week, 2 blogs will be featured allowing everyone to discover some new blogs!

I would really appreciate it if you followed me through GFC or Bloglovin', leave a comment below and I would definitely follow back! :) You can also follow/friend me through Goodreads or Twitter(Its a new Twitter account, any new followers would be greatly appreciated!)

Question of the week: Have you ever read a book you thought you'd hate but loved? Or vice versa?

I have read many books that I thought I would love but ended up hating/not liking as much as I thought I would. A recent few that I've reviewed on the blog are Snow like Ashes by Sara Raasch, The Program by Suzanne Young and A Great and Terrible Beauty by Libba Bray.

I wouldn't go as far as to say that I've read a book I thought I would hate and ended up loving because who reads a book that you know/think you're gonna hate? I do however have a handful of books that caught me off guard and I ended up liking them a lot more than expected! The most recent one would be On the Island by Tracey Garvis-Graves. I will be reviewing this next week!

Leave links to your Feature & Follow down in the comments below and I'll surely drop by!

  1. Ooh! Can't wait for your review for On the Island! I saw it on Goodreads but wasn't sure about the cover and blurb. If you liked it, I must read it, though! (:

    1. Go for it! It is super entertaining :) Also, if you are concerned about the teacher-student romantic relationship, it doesn't really come into play because the plane crashes before she actually even teaches lol. Can't wait to see if you enjoyed it!

      Thanks for stopping by!

  4. Wow! I'm taken aback by your rating on Snow Like Ashes! I had to skim through it, because I've yet to read it! But I want to come back and read your thoughts on it for sure!

    1. Hahah yah it is a very unpopular opinion but compared to the many fantasy out there, Snow Like Ashes really wasn't that good for me.

Thanks for dropping by, I followed back! :)

  5. Congrats!!! I can tell you about The Vanished Ones by Donato Carrisi I thought that this book is historical, but when I start to read it I learn that it's thriller, good one- shakes my world! :)

  6. I remember being really underwhelmed by A Great and Terrible Beauty. I didn't hate it, but I definitely didn't love it either. I'm a bit wary of The Program too - some people love it, but I've also heard a few not-so-great reviews, so I just don't know!!
I'll be following you on bloglovin :)

    1. Same here, there were parts I liked and parts that I didn't. The Program just didn't work for me, I had so many issues with it. :/ Maybe borrow it from the library?

Thanks for stopping by, I followed back :)

I'll have to agree to disagree with you on Snow Like Ashes ;) I loved it! But I can see where you didn't. Great review by the way :)

    1. It is so disappointing when you end up hating a book that you thought you'd like :( You should give it a go, it is a relatively quick read!

  10. I also don’t read books that I think I’m going to hate. Who wants to read something that they know they probably won’t like?

  11. I was also disappointed by The Program as a whole, I liked the first book but the second ruined the entire series.

  14. Snow Like Ashes was a disappointment for me too. Not that I didn't like it... I did. I just thought it was going to be amazing and it was just okay. I love A Great and Terrible Beauty though!
